Dr Nic Haygarth is an awesome Tasmanian Historian and its well worth a visit to his website if you get the time.
He writes about the pioneering characters and places of the West Coast and beyond, its mining history and legacy and beauty. Dr Nic has written many in depth books on lots of pioneering subjects. A view to Cradle, A peopled frontier (Tarkine), Baron Bischoff, The wild ride, Joe Fagan’s Waratah, The Norfolk Plains, Historic Tasmanian mountain huts, Mountain men, Wonderstruck (caves and karsts), and Ossie, the story of Osmiridium. Its a lot of work and each has some unique photos and its nice to get a picture of a place from another time.
He is a wealth of knowledge and a nice person to boot.
