I spoke to MRT this week about using a garden hose to bring on water using the siphon effect and work away from the creek itself. I should be able to go 15 meters in any direction as long as its lower than the top and the top of the hose remains under water.

They said Yes! bless them. A garden hose is a non mechanical device and is held in the hand and is a tool such. I don't want to hydrosluice. i just want to fill my pan with water and not walk to the creek every time or bucket it every time i pan a sample. The walking creates erosion, etc. And, this simple device will make much untouched ground accessible. hope that helps.

have a great day
