Re: Welcome to Tasmanian Prospectors Forum
Hello.
Great to find this forum.. I feel as if I may have finally found a group of people that could help me to finally find a bit of color. and have al augh at the same time.....
I'm a new member to this forum and hope to find somebody in the Devonport..Ulverstone..Burnie area that would consider a tag-along.
Or to be notified when there is day-out.......
I live in penguin.and have been here for 3 and half years.. I work in Ulverstone as a Civil Laborer...Excavator Operator..... Im not afraid of wielding a shovel or pick... i do it every day.....
I have been prospecting 5-6 times a year for 8 years in Vic. W.A and Tas I have NEVER even had a speck of colour. I have found Hundreds of bullets, nails and wire.though
On EVERY occasion I was by-myself..and feel I really need someone to bounce off so to speak..
I have a minelab 2200. A 1 meter long Aluminum high-banker with small 12v pumps buckets and pans.
With a young family a full time job and a huge extended family. I find it a bit difficult to find the time..
What lead me to this site was a post by PHILSKI about Moina. On Gold Detecting and Prospecting Forum....
And I see that some of you guys went there (MOINA) just last month...
Again if anybody would like a bit of company I could go on a RDO--Public Hol or Saturday/Sunday...
Cheers.

G'day joris welcome to the site!
8 years and still trying! There is no doubting your commitment mate.
I use to own a civil construction company in tassie, mostly pipe work, gas, water etc but sold up to prospect fulltime. My brother is still there doing lots around your area.
I spend the majority of my time on the mainland now but come back to tassie once a year for a bit of prospecting. If you go on another mainland trip make sure you contact me and I can guarantee to help you get that elusive first piece.
The guys here should be able to help you out down there as there all very friendly. If you haven't got a nugget by Xmas time when I am down there, I will take you out and show you a few spots. The 2200 is a great little detector and there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to find lots, once given a bit of guidance.
Goodluck
