Moina - Bell Mountain - Dolcoath

Postby admin » Wed Dec 12, 2012 8:35 pm

Hi all

I am going to go up to Moina/ Bell Mountain Gold field this coming Monday and / or Tuesday. im hoping to get in a couple of full days if possible, so home around dark. One detecting a new area i bet nobody has ever detected. On a nice big inside bend not far from a know nugget area. In conglomerate of all things..

and one day testing my new portable eco-rock washer.
it uses, an earth friendly mix of gravity and water and a shovel to collect Gold. Very Cleaver.

it was my first go at welding too, so historic and a relic. if i ever find another mount Bischoff...
Expecting to start around 7am or so.
but open to getting up at the crack of noon if need be.

if anyone needs a lift up just ask.

kindest regards
Phillip

Cool. This area is on a big bend to the east of the nugget area and approx the same level in the wash as Bell Creek. And would be Kemp's reward claim (circa 1892) no idea of return of the claim. And cant find any historical data online or know anyone left alive that would know. so i need to have a look. If its a duffer, i will add it to my growing duffer spot list. It Does remind me of Middletons Creeks big bend on the map only more dog legged and looks to be sitting on a fault and or cross fault. Or was perhaps a race or trenching works for it to be so straight. no idea, Ive never been into that area either. So will find out tomorrow.

Should be plenty of water running and better weather hopefully. And a picker or nugget would be nice.

Kindest Regards
Phillip

Hey Phillip
Thanks very much for taking the time to pick me up to do a run up to Doctors Rocks, Mate what an awesome couple of hours we had, colour in the very first pan you've gotta be happy with that.

Mission accomplished, found some "Tassie Gold".
Very much appreciated "Thanks"
cheers
Lee
