Help identifying some samples

Postby Haydos » Mon Oct 26, 2015 1:20 pm

Hi all!
I have recently purchased some land near Broadmarsh. During construction of our home the geologist commented on how unique the site was geologically due to a contact running though the property. Anyway I have found some unique pale rock possibly chert or agate with opaque to caramel coloured sections. It's very light and fractures like flint. Some people have sugested opalised wood. Im just interested in identifying it and was hoping someone here may know. Thanks

Hi Haydos,
I'd happily call that wood opal.
