What's your best coin or jewelry find with a detector.

Found a 1925 penny in fairly good condition some years ago with a Garrett ADS deepseeker. Have tried unsuccessfully to upload a photo of it. Will try again another time.

Wow! That's a lovely old coin, mate. Excellent detail with just slight wear on the high points. I bet you're really proud of that one. Good clear photo too. Thanks for posting.

Very Beautiful coins above. I purchased a full set of pre decimal pennies just for the 1925. Lovely coin and the Crown is in awesome condition. Amazing they could last so long so well. my efforts at "treasure hunting" has been pretty darn poor. About 55 cents all up!

Till this week! and i hit the jackpot. And got my First ever $1 coin. a 2002 year of the outback one dollar and a 20c. And, promptly lost the 20c on the way home in my waders,,, somehow.

The $1 sounded like a florin in the ground! And was found at one of the local church grounds in town. i asked first..

Used to find a lot of old coins with my Garrett Deepseeker. Here's a few of them: nothing of great value, but interesting.

Thanks for your post, Whitehunter, a nice old sterling silver William IV shilling there. It's always interesting to see what others have been finding and an inspiration to get out detecting.

I got my first $2 coin today! and another 5 decimals in 30 min. so getting better at it, 6 positive targets in 10 holes. 3 min to detect and retrieve the target on average so pretty swift going. The other 4 targets where ring pulls. i am sort of getting used to the range and noise the ring pulls make too. but they sound so sweet. And not at all like aluminium.

The best thing for me, is i finally got to find the entire range of Australian decimal coins. 1c - $2.00. And, found a new productive place to hunt. Still not a single Pre decimal though. But hopefully soon.

Here's my best find of the last few days, found near Creswick with my Garrett ATX at a depth of 15cms - a Holloway Penny token dated 1857.
