Hi Acfish
Perfect timing. My kids are all keen to go get some, but its been hard finding a detector that will fit them and work, that's not a toy.
The minelab Go-find 20-40-60 will be perfect for them to use i think. Lightweight and adjustable length, waterproof and smartphone apps and seem to be as simple to use Treasure / Adventure detector.

I pre ordered one of each and they should be here next month for testing. I will let you know how they go when they arrive.

have a great weekend
Phillip

Hi Phil,

Just wondering if you got around to testing these and how they went? I am in no way able to afford thousands on a detector yet and if these are worth trying out for a beginner I might consider getting one for myself and a mate :)

Cheers,
Neil

Hi Neil

For the price they are a great little machine. Ive only used them for relic hunting and park bashing with the kids and had a single go on a gold field. But my son accidentally had it on its lowest sensitivity all weekend,, oops. and i didn't think to check his settings. Its very lightweight, adjustable and easy to use and offers excellent discrimination. It out discriminates the xterra on things like nails and you get Sound and a visual confirmation when you hit a target. The small coil is an asset in the scrub.

Only bad point so far is the red buttons on the side to collapse it have popped out a couple of times. no big deal they go straight back in. Perhaps not quite the build quality i expect from minelab.

you more than welcome to use one of mine for a few weeks if that helps. There are only a few second hand units kicking about so i guess other people like them too.

have a great day
Phillip

Postby Philski » Fri Jun 03, 2016 3:46 pm

HI again

The Minelab go-find just won the Australian good design award in Sport and Leisure (2016) It back up existing design awards with for the sdc2300 (mil spec) and ctx 3030 in recent years

Great to see them getting recognition and coming out ahead of the other 34 entrants in the same category this year. Is a job well done.
