Heading upto Beaconsfield with the Wife and Kids this Saturday to have a look at the Mine and Heritage Centre and was wondering is there any where around there you can have a metal detect if not for gold coins/artifacts?

Cheers,

Trent

Awesome day at the mine and historical museum today didnt get a chance to detect or pan. But I spoke to the guy at the gem shop and he said 2 weeks ago a couple of people dropped in after panning in Brandy Creek they got a fair few flakes and a 3+ gram nugget. So may go for a trip back up there soon :-)

That sounds good I will have to make a day to go to the mine and museum .i did a bit of prospecting today I went through three buckets of material for about ten small specks . It's a previously worked area ,enjoyable day have spent time doing worse .there is always something to learn . I am considering buying a detector .i think if the location of the original stamp batteries could be found they might be productive or old tailings heaps hopefully I will get time to find out might see you out there one day. I stayed in the old hall at Beaconsfield 40 odd years ago.CWA hall I think. Good place for coins and such things. Would have been thousands of people stay there over the years. Dave

I would love to know where brandy creek is located so I can go and have a little look myself. Anyone know where it is.
