A couple of successful trips west

Post by mfdes » Sun Apr 03, 2016 4:16 pm

Hi everyone,

I headed out west a couple of times recently with fellow forum member seanr0, and I managed to find about an ounce and two thirds in a small creek near Queenstown. Most of the nuggets were in the 1g to 3g size range.

Yep SDC.
Tons of research and getting off the beaten track by a few hours walk. It's still out there if you don't mind putting in the effort.

Hey Miguel and Sean
that's a great effort: really coarse gold.
Looks like an auriferous bag of mixed lollies!
YUM!
must be time to get back out there before the winter weather arrives....
cheers,
Andrew

No, it wasn't me, I've never met the guy. Anyway I always go out leaving a pre-planned itinerary with my partner and I always take an epirb. Thinking of doing a 'Safety in the Bush' type post. The timing's pretty good :-)

Thanks Andrew! The wet weather has well and truly arrived on the west coast. I don't think I could fossick in the same place now that it's been raining that much. Most nuggets came from the bedrock in a creek.
