The Gold Monster finally arrived today. Looks alright, just need the time to use it. Will do a air test when batteries are charged to see how it performs. Hoping to get out with it in the next week or 2 to see how it goes in the field

nonferrous have just bought one of these to. very sensitive only done air tests yet .detect small piece of gold about the size of the zero in 1000 at about 40 mm with 5 inch coil .need to put sample on a dry stick with blue tack as the machine will detect your hand. sensitive setting at 10.

Nonferrous, thanks mate I have been waiting to see if they are noisy or not here.
Im about to buy my first gold detector possibly might be a sdc2300 if the monster faulses and is noisy but the sdc2300 goes way over what I can afford and I will be paying it off for a very long time

Any updates to the GM1000, or as to the knee replacement?
Knee replacements seem to be all the rage.
Three people I personally know have had/are having them this year
Hope the GM1K is as good as you want it to be.
Eagerly waiting for a report after the knee has been replaced.

hi everyone, the gold monster 1000 is available here in tasmania at anaconda for $1150 so i might give it a try.
very new to all this but the fact that its a turn on and go model should make it easy to use for a novice like me.
im in the georgetown area so anyone else near to perhaps help and guide me with it

Got mine at Leading Edge Electronics in Burnie, they are the official Minelab dealer in Tasmania...

$1099 is rrp which is what Leading Edge are selling them for not sure where anaconda is getting the extra $50?

I was tossing up between the 705dual and the monster...They gave me a run down on both detectors which was great for a novice like me and explained the difference between the two, And once I'd decided on the monster they offered after sale service if I had any questions after giving it a run...the inclement weather has kept me from doing so but can't wait to give it a go.

They have pans and picks, pin pointers and all sorts of prospecting equipment, if you've never been in there I'd recommend going to have a look they have a really good range of gear.
