Nothing else at all in that general area. Panning found not even one flake. Nothing! Rather disappointing, really. Detector didn't get any more signals, other than a very few bits of very very corroded aluminium soft drink cans.
The weather has been terrible of late, and there's been some family health problems, so have only been back once since.

how close was this little baby found to the surface? perhaps it was dropped by some unlucky old timer... imagine the look on his face when he got back to the pub to tell about his great find only to look in his pouch and find that it wasnt there!

Probably about a foot or even a little bit more. Really weak signal on the SCD. If the undergrowth, scrub, etc around there wasn't so thick, I reckon someone with a 4500 or 5000 or 7000 could do really well. Probably would have been easier to find with one of them.

I'll try and remember to bring it on Saturday.
