Something to look for in hard rock prospecting for silver ore (Galena/Sphalerite) is Faulting. One of the best examples i can think of is Mount Farrell at Tullah. The many visible faults strike east west cutting the mountian like a loaf of bread. and below every one is an old silver mine. Again on Round Mountain near Mt Roland Faulting and Silver mines right through the middle of it. Another apparently is at the magnet mine. but i have not been their yet so cant confirm. Perhaps the vent to the surface in the undersea floor was that fault? hence the straight line
