had the opportunity to go see my mate in Kalgoorlie again for 4 days of detecting.
with a bit of experience under our belts we gained permission to access some mining companies leases, all it took was a politely worded email, and the pledge to give them any info on the location of any finds.
we manged to get around 20g total, the biggest nugget going 8g, which was stuck in the calcrete 10" down
interestingly much of the gold came from areas with little or no quartz, just weathered laterite.
My coil of choice on the 4500 was the commander 15x12", bit heavy, but supper robust and not at all touch sensitive, good towards the end of the day when you can just bulldoze it along the ground without it falseing

It's great to see such good results, acfish. Nice chunky gold there, hope your run of luck continues and may the rest of your trip be safe and enjoyable.
