I've got a weekend or 2 tentatively put aside in Jan/Feb for trips out that way, got a few likely spots I want to check out and some places I want to revisit so I will post here if anyone else wants to join in. nice work there jason how long did it take you to collect that lot?

No worries ratters I had a couple of weekends over Easter for the last two years but not sure which area I found the party colour gem I thought it was a coloured long topaz with orange centre but when it was cut it produced different colours and looks very unusual .

Hi Jason,

I've camped at the Mutual Bridge a few times and fossicked Main Creek along a few spots. You've got some nice stones there! I've never seen any gold in Main Creek, it doesn't drain the right geology. Black Creek, nearer Branxholm, has a little bit of very fine gold in it.

Hi mfdes
Yes that's nice spot but the damn wasps nearly eat u alive there .
I go up the road further up from bridge. Walk half a km back down into small creek below waterfall and get amongst big boulders there , lots big spinel ,topaz and saphires done ok there but walking out with gear not so much fun after big day in creek lol.
Have u ever found gems in branxholm
