Re: Beryl in Tasmania
I had a look for some (aquamarine) in bismuth creek at Moina recently. i think its the only place in the State that has it.
St Paul's river at Royal George and over on Flinders island, Lake Cethana (Narrawa creek) and the rest of the areas are deep leads and mines. St Helens, Mt Bishoff, My Cameron and Ben Lomond
Occurrences of gemstone minerals in Tasmania is a great resource too.

Re: Beryl in Tasmania
HI i tried down the bottom where Bismuth Creek enters Lake Gairdner. No joy there, no topaz or anything of note down the bottom. But was only scratching about on the surface really with a small shovel and 1/2 inch sieve for a short while and the wash was quite deep. I will try again at the Shepard Murphy (mid) and again up at dolcoath this week (top). im working on Dolcoath starting this week again, so can look every day as time permits.
Another area i want to look at the no4 trench at Narrawa creek. I cant remember if it was Beryl there, or Beryllium but its recorded as big crystals. There is also an area of wash half way up the lower section. Ive noodled it before. but was only looking for gold and bismuth and molybdenite and stuff. So will do a few sieves again and see what happens. Will let you know how i go.
